The Retired Los Angles City Employees’, Inc. (RLACEI) was incorporated in 1973 to promote the common welfare, assure the improvements of benefits, and provide the means for communicating the policies of the City of Los Angeles to all the retired employees and their spouses.

In our first year we accomplished the goal of having health insurance for all retired City employees, prior to 1973 retirees did not receive a health insurance benefit from the City. In later years this was extended to spouses and surviving spouses.

In 1985 a dental plan subsidy was provided to retired employees. A hearing aid and eyeglass program was also added.

One of the important accomplishments was the election of a retiree to the Retirement Commission to represent us and protect our financial interests.

Each year we host a picnic during the summer and a holiday party during December.

Our annual golf tournament is held each June and twice a year we hold member meetings.

We provide the Alive! newspaper to our membership at no cost.

We maintain a good working relationship with LACERS and participate in many of their seminars.

Our goal is, and will continue to be, the welfare of our members and their dependents.
