The Retired City Employees of Los Angeles, Inc.
RLACEI is the association that represents retired members of LACERS, the City of Los Angeles’ retirement system. Our mission is to assure a financially sound retirement system that is adequately funded, so that all present and future retirees will receive the financial benefits they earned during their City careers.
RLACEI is devoted exclusively to protecting and promoting your benefits. Your joining RLACEI is vitally important to help us do this. Remember that while the Mayor, City Council, CAO and the Unions have an interest in protecting our benefits, they have a lot of other competing interests while RLACEI is only looking out for you. As a group, we are much stronger, so it is vitally important that everyone who can joins us!
The RLACEI Board meets monthly to discuss and take action on items that may affect YOUR retirement benefits. In addition, RLACEI Board members monitor the actions of the City Council and attend the LACERS Board meetings and take necessary action to support our goals. RLACEI members are also entitled to attend the annual picnic, golf tournament, and Holiday Party, which provides the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and co-
As an RLACEI member, you are automatically enrolled in the City Employees Club of Los Angeles. This is a very valuable membership that provides you access to their insurance programs like Long Term Care, the monthly “Alive” publication dealing with active and retired City employees and to their many theater and theme park discounted tickets.
Working together we have achieved major improvements in our retirement system, including:
• Election of retiree to the Retirement Commission to represent us and protect our financial interests
• Annual Cost-
• Maintaining a strong Health Insurance Program, including subsidy for retiree and dependents
• Medicare Part B reimbursement for retirees with both Parts A and B of Medicare
• Retired Dental Insurance Program subsidy
• Continuation of health subsidy for surviving spouse
• Increase of death benefits to $2,500
• Hearing Aid and Eyeglass program
• Increase monthly check for Large COLA bank holders
These benefits are the direct result of many hours of work by your fellow retirees. We need your help to protect our retirement system and to oppose any effort on the part of the City that would reduce the financial stability of our pension system.
